This vessel has many possibilities. Designed for – high seas commercial fishing.  Alternatively, these type vessels are undergoing refurbishment into commercial or residential uses.  Fu Shing is in serious need of clean-up and painting. Hull layout and accessibility features are excellent.  Machinery has to be cleaned up or replaced.

We’ve had this vessel for 6 years.  It was obtained at a government auction in Long Beach, CA. It had been arrested while fishing “illegally” 200 miles west of California and had a partial load of fish - 50 tons of  tuna, swordfish, other miscellaneous species.

When arrested the boat went under its own power to Long beach and the fish were unloaded.  The vessel rested in Long Beach for 2 years while undergoing legal proceedings.

Fu Shing was then purchased in excellent running condition, and run up the coast to Rainier, Oregon.  It was a great non-stop trip in seas of 20’ to 25’ for much of the trip.

The vessel had the main engine replaced 1989  — a 1000 Negata (Japanese) diesel – 6 cylinder, turning a 6’ 4 blade prop at approximately 390 rpm via 6" jack shaft driven hydraulic transmission.  Parts look to be knockoffs of Mitsubishi engines.

The vessel sleeps 8.  One head. All accommodations and amenities are minimalist and need to be changed out.

Equipment that is on-board is listed below.  My notion is to replace all of it – too out of date, rusty, etc

  • Microwave
  • Refrigerator/Freezer

Electronics & Navigation

Inventory on board is presumed operational - but I would replace it.

  • Two VHF Marine Radios
  • Two Kenwood SSB
  • One Kyoritsu 315X Radar
  • One Royal color Depth Sounder
  • Two Echotec Plotter
  • Saura Autopilot
  • Two RDF Taiyo-TD-A157
  • Magnetic Compass

Engine & Machinery
The engine is easily accessible via a large overhead hatch. The hours on the engine are unknown — engine did run great until the run away event (above).  For this reason, my objective is to save engine machinery.

  • 1989 Negata 1000 hp 6 cylinder turning a 6' prop at approx. 390 rpm via a jack shaft driven hydraulic transmission.
  • Main Engine Placard information is found at bottom of this web page.
  • Two Mitsubishi 6D16T Gen Sets
150 kw 1800 rpm with 500 hours on one and 700 hours on the other

Utility Systems

  • Watermaker - 220 Volt
  • Air Conditioning  - 2 boat zones

Fishing Equipment

  • 17 radio fishing buoys
  • Approx. 50 miles of used line
  • Approx. 50 miles of new line
  • Associated hooks, swivels, etc
    necessary for fishing.

Deck & Flybridge

  • Teak deck
  • Two Danforth anchors
  • Anchor Windless (electric)

This vessel is offered "as-is, where it is."
